Refund Policy



At Herts Special Vehicles, we aim to ensure all customers are satisfied with their purchase. This policy explains your rights and how refunds or returns are handled.

This policy complies with the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and does not affect your statutory rights.

Collection Only Sales

All goods and vehicles are sold on a collection only basis.

As purchases are completed in person and inspected at collection:

  • Distance selling (14-day cooling-off) regulations do not apply

  • Returns are not accepted simply because you change your mind


Inspection Before Leaving


Customers must inspect all vehicles and goods at the time of collection.

Once goods leave our premises, you confirm:

  • You are satisfied with the condition

  • The item matches your order

We cannot accept claims for visible damage or missing items after collection.


Change of Mind


We do not offer refunds or exchanges for:

  • Change of mind

  • Incorrect purchase or specification chosen by customer

  • Items ordered in error

Please check carefully before purchasing.


Faulty or Not as Described Goods


If goods are faulty, not as described, or not fit for purpose, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund under UK consumer law.


Within 30 days of purchase


You may request:

  • A full refund, or

  • Repair or replacement


After 30 days (up to 6 months)


We may:

  • Repair 

  • Offer a refund if repair is not possible

Proof of purchase is required.


Vehicles & Off-Road Machinery


5.1 Used vehicles and machinery are sold as seen and inspected, unless otherwise stated in writing.
5.2 Normal wear and tear is not considered a fault.
5.3 Off-road use naturally causes component wear and damage and is not covered by refunds.
5.4 Manufacturer warranties apply where provided.


Non-Refundable Items


The following are non-refundable unless faulty:

  • Deposits

  • Special orders or custom-built items

  • Electrical components

  • Parts that have been fitted or used

  • Clearance or sale items (unless faulty)


Returns Process


If you believe an item is faulty:

  1. Contact us immediately

  2. Provide proof of purchase

  3. Describe the issue and provide photos if possible

  4. Do not return items without prior approval

We will advise next steps.


Refund Method


Approved refunds will be made:

  • To the original payment method

  • Within 5–10 working days
